Per Dave Dodge: "There is no need to wire the chain to the sprocket. Once you pull the one cam, the chain can easily slip off the crank sprocket and will put that cam out of alignment anyway. I remove both cams because it gives you more room to remove and install the tensioner assembly. You are not saving any time leaving one cam in."
