Replacing Ignition Switch
Usually the biggest issue with replacing the ignition switch is that the new ignition switch key does not match the gas tank or helmet lock.
OEM keys are double-cut for convenience, not necessity. If your replacement ignition switch is the same style as the OEM, you can have one side of the a new key cut for the ignition and one side cut for the gas tank/helmet holder. (Don't forget to get a spare key made at the same time)
If you lost your OEM key, the Honda dealer you can have a new key cut from the numbers listed on the back of the helmet holder - must remove to view the numbers. On some models, the number is also stamped into the bottom of the gas cap.
