Main Fuse Modification

This modification is done for 2 reasons:

1. The stock fusible link can develop hairline fractures that are not readily apparent and can produce the pesky electrical gremlins we all love so much.

2. Most Honda dealers have no idea what a fusible link is. Try finding a replacement in the middle of BFE at 3 A.M. at the local gas station.

Materials Needed:

- 1 Inline blade fuse holder and 1 30 amp blade fuse (the larger blade fuse is recommended as it is easier to replace without specific tools - compared to the mini-blade fuse) The inline blade fuse holder can be found at Wal-Mart and most autoparts stores for about $6. Blade fuse holder with weather-proof cap is good insurance too.

- 2 ring crimp on terminals - Heat shrink tubing or liquid electrical tape

Procedure:

- Remove the fusible link and ensure the ring crimp on terminals will fit the screws and the wires from the inline blade fuse holder.

- Slide heat shrink tubing over the wires BEFORE crimping the ring terminals to the blade fuse holder wires.

- Shrink the heat shrink tubing or apply liquid electrical tape.

- Using the OEM screws, mount the blade fuse holder to the original fusible link location.

- You can tuck the wiring and fuse holder behind a frame member to keep it out of the way.

If you want the little plastic door to close over the connection screws, slots will have to be cut into the side of the door to allow room for the wire.

Nice mod, but no heat shrink tubing or liquid electrical tape.
